One week, one rewrite, still not up to date!


One week ago I posted a hopeful update. Well, one week later here we are... So, in the interim I realized I ought to refactor/rewrite my core systems, (generating my custom tilemap, and player/enemy movement). While doing this I realized I had a lot of spaghetti code (code that controlled the same area of thing but wasn't next to itself or in same place, but rather scattered all over making it hard to debug and find). I decided to do a complete rewrite of my code and make it (hopefully) clearer for me to follow and maintain/expand. Thankfully the primary logic and systems had already been implemented, so I only had to think about rearranging, and polishing up most of it, while some systems were rather small, so it was easy to just rewrite from scratch.

I am almost back to where I was, I think I have skill use to reimplement, and attacking/health bar to put back into the game. However, my first priority is to attach my world scene and my UI together, currently they aren't interacting with each other. Once I have that done, as well as making it so you can pick the fruit I plan to update the uploaded files. I will then reimplement skills, attack, health, death, and add in consumable fruit before updating the game files again.
